Majestic pines, timber bamboo and lush foliage provide shelter, seclusion, and an air of peace and serenity in the heart of Chandler Estates. Over nearly 50 years, Burton and Florence Farber made dozens of trips to Japan, studying traditional Japanese architecture, shoji screen construction, the art of joinery, bonsai and pruning techniques. Working together over the decades, they designed, hand crafted and engineered each detail of this beloved and inspired "home as art". Custom wood cabinetry, shoji panels, elevated platforms and hardwood detailing are accented by treasures from their world travels, including custom Venetian mosaic counters in kitchen and bath, Catalina tiles, intricate wood-carved door and bath cabinetry, antique hardware and rare, decorative leaded and stained glass. Each room enjoys a garden view. A separate, open tea house offers year round enjoyment of the Japanese inspired landscape. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
